Congratulations to Katy Thompson, our managing director for Venues by CH&CO, who has been awarded The Freedom of The City of London.
This very special honour that remains a unique part of London’s history was presented to Katy at a special ceremony yesterday (17 November).
Katy oversees our Venues and Livery operations in the Capital, ensuring that the sales, hospitality and events delivery for the impressive, iconic portfolio always exceed expectations.
Her leadership has brought vigour and focus to the Livery sector in particular, and through a one team mentality, our Livery Halls, including Goldsmiths’ Hall, Plaisterers’ Hall, Coopers’ Hall, Clothworkers’ Hall, Ironmongers’ Hall and Founders’ Hall, have reopened their doors to enjoy a very busy end to what has been a challenging year for all.
Katy said on receiving the honour: “I am absolutely thrilled to receive my Freedom of the City of London and proud that I can be part of one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies still in existence today.
“Having spent my entire career of more than 20 years in London, specifically dedicated to the hospitality industry, this award is particularly special to me.”
